Extreme Makeover: Home EditionFeatured on ABC’s “EXTREME MAKEOVER: Home Edition” in February 2011, this Canaveral Groves solar-powered home is by far LifeStyle’s most famous home. Its “extreme” design features a part of a Boeing 727 incorporated into the breakfast nook. With enormous support of local community, we led the 196-hour build of this home for the Hurston family – a family dedicated to humanitarian service in Haiti. This is a priceless home on so many levels.

THE ST. CROIX (Modified)Each and every home built by LifeStyle today is extremely energy efficient. In fact, each new home built to our SunSmart standards is guaranteed to score a 60 or lower on the HERS index. That being the case, our solar-powered homes can reach a zero-energy performance much easier than conventional homes built today. Take this Rockledge home, for example. With only a 5.7 kilowatt photovoltaic system, it is able to produce a better than a zero-energy performance (HERS -1). Meaning, this 2,387 square-foot home produces more energy than its owners consume on a yearly basis.

THE ST. CROIX WITH BONUSThe high-quality panels installed on each solar-powered home built by LifeStyle Homes are designed and configured to capture the most sunlight possible, as well as offer an aesthetically pleasing clean energy solution. You’ll notice the panels of this Melbourne home are flush mounted into the tile roof, seemingly blending right into the roof itself.

THE TUSTIN AT HARMONYBecause of LifeStyle’s efforts to offer clean energy to local homeowners, we were invited to build our energy-efficient homes in the Town of Harmony in Osceola County. Harmony is Central Florida’s largest certified-green community, and is dedicated to healthy, sustainable, ecologically friendly living. This solar-powered Tustin model home (since sold) was designed in partnership with Harmony to prove that a net-zero-energy performance can be achieved at a desirable price point.

The St. CroixThe St. Croix model built in Rockledge’s Capron Ridge, Tralee Bay Estates, is the very first self-sustaining solar-powered home on Florida’s East Coast. It has won numerous awards, including the Florida Home Builders Association’s Aurora Award for the best solar-energy home, presented at the 2011 Southeast Builders Conference and the North American Net Zero Energy Production Home of the Year.
