A MERV filter is a highly efficient fine HVAC filter that essentially captures, dilutes, and removes virus-containing particles from the air. The higher the MERV rating, the greater number of particles it captures. A germicidal UV light—which kills unwanted airborne microorganisms—is paired with the MERV 11 filter to add another line of air purification to your home.
Removing moisture from wet rooms is of utmost importance. Not only can lingering moisture from a hot shower, for example, cause cosmetic defects, like peeling paint, it can also lead to mold and mildew. Humidity-sensing exhaust fans effectively eliminate this problem by automatically detecting and removing excess moisture in the air. Your LifeStyle home will have humidity-sensing fans in all bathrooms and the laundry room. In addition, your laundry room’s clothes dryer will be vented to the outdoors.
It is no surprise that dust and debris is a common occurrence during the construction process. The ZIP System® is an all-in-one revolutionary sheathing system designed to enhance structural durability, keep moisture out, and reduce air leakage. Your LifeStyle home will be built with ZIP System® 7/16” exterior wall sheathing with tape, as well as ZIP System® roof sheathing. As ZIP System® products achieve optimal levels of permeability and drainage, your home will be better protected against water intrusion. Spray foam has emerged as a highly superior and extremely effective insulator in recent years. This insulation technique creates an air-tight seal to help drastically improve the energy-efficiency and the year-round comfort of your home. LifeStyle Homes uses R-24 open-cell spray foam to create a protective bubble around your home’s living areas. In addition to being a superior insulator, it has the added perks of reducing noise, as well as blocking dust, pollen, and other airborne pollutants for a cleaner, more comfortable environment. LifeStyle Homes is committed to only using paints with ZERO volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Judging by the smell, it is no surprise that paint releases chemicals that are harmful to your health when inhaled. Zero VOC paints are inherently less toxic.
All LifeStyle homes are built with hard-surface flooring in the main living areas, eliminating the entrapment of dust, dirt, pollen, pet dander, food and drink spills—a common problem with carpets. This makes these areas much easier to clean to eliminate these health hazards from your home.
If your LifeStyle home has carpet, it is protected for its useful life against the growth of microbes with Microban® technology. Microban® makes microorganisms unable to function, grow, or reproduce. It kills most common types of bacteria—including eColi, MSRA, and Staph—as well as mold and mildew. Even better? It does not wear off or wash away.
LifeStyle Homes takes precautions to protect your home from rodents and pests, and the diseases and other health hazards they present. All openings that cannot be fully sealed will be protected with caulking or screening where necessary. LifeStyle Homes will also perform pest control treatment before your move-in day.
