Last week, we were finally able to spill a secret that we’ve been keeping since January. The LifeStyle Homes’ team, and many of our trades partners, will be featured on the one-hour premiere episode of Outback Nation, set to air on April 13th at 10 p.m. EST on the cable network FYI (Bright House Networks channel 147)!

Here’s a bit of background information on what you can expect from this wonderful new show, as well as LifeStyle’s involvement in the very first episode…

Outback Nation is a backyard makeover reality television show starring Australian television personality, horticulturalist, and landscape designer Jamie Durie. The show aims to transform some of the worst-kept backyards in the U.S. into beautiful and functional spaces.

The producers of Outback Nation contacted LifeStyle Homes to lead the “clear out, build out, and plant out” of Mary and Danny Farley’s backyard on Merritt Island. We were selected for this opportunity because of our previous participation on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in 2011.

To get the job done, LifeStyle Homes called upon our employees and subcontractors to assist with the project. Under the vision and direction of Jamie Durie, we cleared out the Farley’s overgrown backyard, built exciting new structures and features tailored to each family member’s interests, and sodded and planted hundreds of colorful plants and flowers.

Over the course of five days, or team worked side-by-side with Jamie Durie to complete the backyard transformation. The Farley family was also put to work, earning their backyard oasis while learning how to properly care for their outdoors.

We at LifeStyle Homes are thrilled to have been asked by Outback Nation’s producers to participate in this exciting new show. In true LifeStyle fashion, our team rose to the occasion, rolled up our sleeves, and at the end of the day helped lift the spirits of some of our neighbors who desperately needed a backyard boost.
