Brevard and Indian River County summers are known for their sunshine, beach days—and intense heat. When building a new home in the Sunshine State, smart cooling features are more than just a luxury; they’re essential for comfort, energy efficiency, and long-term savings. At LifeStyle Homes, we design homes with Florida’s unique climate in mind.
Here’s how we help you stay cool, all summer long.
1.High-Efficiency HVAC Systems
The heart of any cool home is a reliable, high-efficiency HVAC system. We install 15.2 SEER2 (equivalent to 16 SEER) air-conditioning units designed to cool your home faster while using less energy. Smart thermostats come standard in our homes as well, giving you control of your home’s temperature from your phone, even when you’re at the beach.
2.Energy-Efficient Windows & Sliding-Glass Doors
Our homes are built with double-pane, Low-E glass windows that block harmful UV rays and reduce solar heat gain—without sacrificing natural light. Combined with tight insulation and proper sealing around windows and doors, these features create a more consistent indoor temperature year-round.
3.Spray Foam Insulation
Open-cell spray foam insulation offers excellent thermal performance and energy efficiency by expanding to fill gaps and cracks, creating an airtight seal that reduces air leakage. It’s particularly effective in Florida homes for controlling humidity, as it helps limit moisture intrusion while allowing the building to breathe. (Spray foam is not standard in LifeStyle’s Classics Collection homes.)
4.Ceiling Fan Outlets in Key Living Areas
It might sound old-school, but ceiling fans are a Florida essential. By circulating air and creating a wind-chill effect, fans help rooms feel cooler even when the thermostat is set a few degrees higher. We include fan pre-wiring in main living spaces, bedrooms, and even the rear porch in all of our floorplans.
5.Smart Layouts for Natural Air Flow
Strategic window placement and open floor plans are more than just design features—they help promote cross-ventilation. When the evening breeze picks up, simply opening a few windows can let fresh air flow through the home, reducing reliance on AC and freshening up your space.
6.Covered Outdoor Living Spaces
Beat the heat without staying indoors. Our floorplans often include covered lanais or patios—ideal for shaded outdoor relaxation. Add in optional ceiling fans or misting systems, and your outdoor space becomes a true summer oasis.
Homes built by LifeStyle Homes reflect the way Floridians live—bright, breezy, and built for comfort. Whether you’re relocating, upgrading, or building your first home, our energy-smart features help you enjoy summer in Florida without breaking a sweat.
