Cocoa holds a special place in the hearts of Ted and Donna Badger. It is here where the couple met in 9th grade, got married, and had their first child. So, when the Badgers sought a place to retire, Cocoa emerged as the right fit. As Ted likes to say: “We are home again!”

LifeStyle was lucky enough to build Ted and Donna their retirement home on a gorgeous six-acre parcel situated on a quiet Cocoa road.

Read on to get to know the Badgers.

LSH: Please tell a bit about yourselves.
TB: As the Pastor of Missions at a large Baptist church in the Tampa area, Donna and I strive to live life to the fullest as we serve the Lord through domestic and international missions. Together we joyfully travel to many destinations sharing the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and encouraging and training believers.

LSH: How did you hear about LifeStyle Homes?
TB: As we began planning our future home, we developed a “want” list that included an energy-efficient design with the potential to add solar. We had been working with a local realtor looking at existing properties and when it became apparent that we needed to build to get what we desired. She introduced us to Bonnie at the Palm Bay sales center. We connected with Bonnie immediately and our journey with LifeStyle began. By the way, LifeStyle was the second builder we visited, however the first builder had nothing to offer with respect to what we wanted in a new home.

LSH: What made you decide to build with us, and why did you decide the St. Kitts was the right home for you?
TB: Our choice to build with LifeStyle was greatly influenced by Bonnie as she took the time we needed to walk us through the process, but only after fully understanding our project goals. The St. Kitts was really the only model we considered once we visited a model home.

LSH: What was your favorite part of the build experience?
TB: Working with each and every one of the LifeStyle team members was a true joy, especially Dan Coe, our site foreman. This was our third custom home build and by far the best experience. My questions were always readily answered, and I felt a true partnership in the entire process. Dan was always gracious when I needed clarification on a point, and receptive when I found errors that needed correction. We were a team working together to reach a specific goal, that being the successful completion of our home. We’ve since moved into our new home and have discovered a few minor problems, all of which have been or are being taken care of by Dan and your contractors.

LSH: Any tips you have for families starting the new home experience?
TB: Depending on the family’s past experience with such projects, I would encourage them to ask many questions about all aspects of the build and to develop a strong, trusting relationship with their site foreman.
