LifeStyle Homes is named a finalist in Florida Today’s signature “Volunteer Recognition Awards.” The 26th-annual event will take place at the Bernard Simpkins Fine Art Center at Eastern Florida State College in Cocoa.

LifeStyle Homes is nominated in the 2017 Business of the Year category, alongside Florida Power & Light and Triangle Auto. Other categories include Organization of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Citizen of the Year.

In LifeStyle’s 33 years in business, the company’s employees have done extensive volunteer work in a variety of capacities.

Public education and local schools has been a longtime focus of LifeStyle’s charitable efforts. Its flagship “Education Renovation by LifeStyle Homes” has been in operation since the ’90s. At that time, LifeStyle Homes offered classroom renovations to deserving teachers. Today, through the same program, LifeStyle presents monthly $1,000 grants to teachers. Winning teachers use the grant money to implement certain programs or purchase certain educational tools that were otherwise out-of-reach financially.

In addition to educational outreach, LifeStyle was nominated for its efforts in building an “outdoor garden sensorium” for the M.O.R.G.A.N. Project; a cottage for Nana’s House gated community; as well as renovations at the PAL House in West Melbourne.

The Florida Today Volunteer Recognition Awards ceremony takes place November 16th at 6 p.m.
