The best and brightest builders around the Southeast United States gathered at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Conference Center on Friday evening, August 17, to celebrate the 39th annual Aurora Awards.

This year’s competition drew nearly 400 entries in 61 categories including commercial, office space, renovated projects, mixed-use, affordable, multi-family projects, site planning, single-family production, and custom homes.

LifeStyle Homes was honored to be a Silver Aurora Award recipient in the Best Solar Energy Home category. Our former Seville model home in Viera—the LifeStyle St. Thomas—was recognized for its superb use of energy-efficient building components, finished with a 7.98 solar system using state-of-the-art solar tiles. The home performs at a better-than zero-energy level, having scored a -5 on the HERS Index.

“The Aurora Gala was a sold-out event and showcased all Aurora winners,” says Aurora Awards chairman Patti Guthrie. “The event was definitely the place to see a spectacular overview of emerging design and planning trends in residential and commercial development.”

Entries were reviewed by a panel of four building industry leaders. Judges are selected from among the most creative and successful individuals within the home building industry and represent the many disciplines contributing to building and design, as well as geographic diversity.

The 2018 awards ceremony marked the third time LifeStyle Homes has been honored with an Aurora Award. LifeStyle won in 2015 in the category of Best Environmental Design for our former St. Croix model in Melbourne’s Pineda Springs neighborhood, as well as in 2011 for Best Solar Energy Home for our former St. Croix model in Rockledge’s Tralee Bay Estates.
