Just a few months ago, Residential Building Products + Technology magazine published a piece highlighting some of the hottest product and design trends to watch for in 2015. We have to say, we enthusiastically agree with many of items on their list, and have a few that stand out as our personal favorites.

If you’re thinking of building a new home with LifeStyle Homes or another builder in 2015, take note of these popular items that you may want to consider for your own home.

Wood or Tile. Can You Tell? Number one on Residential Building magazine’s list is ceramic tile that is designed to mimic the appearance of real wood. This product performs like tile, but exudes the timeless look of wood surfaces. At LifeStyle Homes’ Signature Selection Studio, we carry many colors and styles of this product, which has become hugely popular with our customers over the past few years.

Gorgeous Quartz. It’s no secret that granite has enjoyed a long run as one of the most sought-after interior finishes. But, before you get your heart set on granite, we encourage you to consider quartz. It’s versatile, durable, easy-to-care-for, and just plain gorgeous. At LifeStyle Homes we offer our homebuyers many selections from the Cambria collection. Cambria just recently released many new styles and designs, and samples are available for viewing at our Signature Selection Studio.

Outdoor Oasis. Outdoor living areas that are an extension of a home’s indoors have been popular for quite some time. But these spaces just keep evolving, and that’s why they’re another trend to watch again next year—especially in Central Florida. From unique pool designs with rock gardens, slides, swim-up bars, and more; to summer kitchens with solid-surface countertops, stainless-steel appliances, and high-tech grilling equipment; to beautiful furniture that works both indoors and out, outdoor living area will sail right in to 2015 as another hot trend.

Smart-Home Technology.
We recently posted a blog about LifeStyle’s smart-home automation capabilities through our partnership with Indian River Sight & Sound. Due to its convenience and ease-of-use, smart-home automation is predicted to make its way into many new homes going up in 2015 and beyond. Not only do smart homes allow their owners to control security, entertainment, lighting, heating and cooling, and more from a single device inside their home, they also give their owners the ability to control these things from virtually anywhere in the world using their smart phone!

Advances in All Things Solar.
Most people know that LifeStyle Homes is a huge proponent of solar power. So any advances and adoptions that are made in the world of solar technology gets us excited. In 2015, look for solar technology to keep pushing forward—panels that produce more wattage, innovative solar roof tiles, and much more. We’re excited to see a greater convergence of solar-powered homes and electric vehicles this year as both become more mainstream as well.
