As we at LifeStyle Homes wrap up construction on our final homes in Pineda Ridge, we wanted to introduce you to one more of our customers in this Melbourne neighborhood. Chris Vellanti, who lives with her two very cute and spoiled English Springer Spaniels, chose a stunning lot with sweeping views of Pineda Ridge’s centralized lake. She selected LifeStyle’s Bimini home plan and made some wonderful modifications, including a gorgeous over-sized rear balcony off her primary suite.
Read on to get to know Chris and her experience building with LifeStyle Homes.
LSH: Please offer a little background on yourself.
CV: I was born in Hialeah, Florida and raised in Homestead. After Hurricane Andrew my family escaped from Miami and chose Brevard to be our home. I’ve been working for State Farm insurance company since 1987 in a marketing capacity. I graduated from FSU with a teaching degree and several years ago I got my primary’s degree from Florida Tech. I’m currently teaching marketing at Keiser University. My oldest daughter graduated from UNF recently and is working for Deloitte. My youngest daughter is a full-time student at Eastern Florida State College and is a full-time employee for Eric Ponce State Farm agency.
LSH: Why did you decide to build with LifeStyle Homes?
CV: I first heard about LifeStyle Homes when you built a home for ABC’s Extreme Makeover. I was lucky enough to volunteer with my daughter in the teenager’s bedroom working with the design team. I was trying to find a good investment and decided to build my dream home to enjoy. After researching builders, LifeStyle seemed like the best choice for me.
LSH: What attracted you to the Bimini floor plan, and what modifications did you make?
CV: The Bimini floor plan fit my desire to have a water view from both the living room and the bedroom. I was also able to modify the model to enlarge the primary bedroom and bath. Since I had prior experiences with hurricanes in South Florida, I wanted the second story to be concrete block structure (CBS) construction, and LifeStyle made the modifications very affordable for me.
LSH: How important to you are the energy-saving LifeStyle SunSmart℠ features of your new home? Why?
CV: My new hybrid hot water heater is now named “Harold.” I’m excited to save on the electric bill and am also happy about the bug shield. No spiders in my house! My home has been wired as a smart home and I’m looking forward to listening to the total home surround sound.
LSH: How was your experience building with LifeStyle Homes?
CV: LifeStyle Homes treated me as a part of their family. From the initial discussions to the very end, everyone was awesome. Leslie (new home sales specialist) walked me through the floor plan taking care of details I wouldn’t have thought about. Jennifer (interior designer) helped with all the design choices, and Russ (superintendent) took care of me every step with the building details. I don’t think I could have had a better team helping me.
LSH: What are you looking forward to most about living in your new home?
CV: I can’t wait to sit on my balcony in the morning and have coffee before work and use my beautiful huge primary bathroom and new awesome kitchen! Thanks Lifestyle!
